No Wonder Non-Union UFCW Reps Want a Union at Their Jobs…

0

A couple of weeks ago, a group of union representatives filed a petition with the NLRB to hold a secret-ballot election to determine whether or not to become unionized at their employer, UFCW Local 400.

While the post (here, as well as on Redstate) was highlighting the hypocrisy of a union that backs card check (as opposed to secret ballot elections) yet refuses card check with its own employees, it drew an unusual comment (on the LUR site) from a “unique” visitor that just had to be shared with you.

Here it is, in total [emphasis added]:

Local 400 is an excellent place of employment and should be viewed as a model of how a workplace should operate and conduct business. There is no hypocrisy what so ever. The entire issue is really about employees (Representatives) who are completely clueless, unappreciative, and incompetent. They seek unwarranted promotions and other types of rewards and contribute very little. Local 400 reorganized to ensure that our cause is really about the “union members”. These Representatives have been skating and underperforming which is no longer tolerated. Now that they are being held to very high performance standards, they run to FAIR for shelter. What you have reported on your website is completely untrue and is being fueled by those few narcissistic individuals whose low work ethic would not be permitted at any other workplace. Local 400 has given these Representatives a chance to step up to the cause, our members. The outcome of the election will not change the expectation of these Representatives to not only meet but exceed high performance standards; Local 400 is no different than any other employer.

You might be wondering: Who is Sandi Stokes?

According to UFCW Local 400’s 2009 labor-management report on file with the U.S. Dept of Labor, Ms. Stokes is the Comptroller for Local 400 and took in over $103,000—which likely places her in the category of “management.”

And, if the above is any indication of what the UFCW thinks of it’s employees (the union representatives), no wonder they want a union.

It’s been said that “the company union that gets a union deserves a union…”
