securing ancillary services requested by consulting physician, Ambulatory, Internal Medicine, and/or Family Practice experience, Friendly and energetic, with the ability to work with a team, Providing and supervising the provision of the diagnosis and continuous management (including regular clinical reassessments) of diseases and disorders of patients enrolled in clinics, Certifying all medical staff is able to perform basic medical procedures, such as venipuncture, EKG, reading of PPD and Blood Glucose testing, Evaluating and examining patients, utilizing the clinical history, physical examination and the appropriate laboratory data adhering to appropriate standards of treatment, Practicing and overseeing the provision of health promotion and disease prevention to include administering vaccinations and counseling regarding the virtues of dietary and hygienic interventions where appropriate, Overseeing the daily operation of the medical clinic and implement measures to promote the optimal functioning of the medical department, Ensuring with the aid of the PA and Head Nurse that all patients due for regular, periodic examinations (viz., annual physicals, quarterlies etc., be scheduled and seen), Surveying the needs at the clinic as often as needed and request materials and supplies necessary for the maintenance of equipment and functioning of daily operations, Ensuring that all problems with equipment and software be reported immediately to Chapel Street through the head nurse, Performing any and all tasks necessary to improve the quality of care, to improve the productivity of medical staff, and to improve patient satisfaction with the medical/nursing care they receive, Performing any and all reasonable tasks necessary to enhance reimbursement and reduce denials for services rendered, Clinical outpatient practice / patient visits with own panel, Supervising and teaching Family Practice residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings and serving as preceptor in the ambulatory sites (3-4 half-days per week) teaching residents/med students in the clinic on site at the hospital, Supervising the Family Medicine / Obstetrical Clinic, Performing administrative duties and scholarly activities as directed by the Director of Family Medicine Education, Providing services in accordance with generally acceptable standards of medical practice, Developing a plan of treatment/care for the patient that also includes education and follow-up visits, Making referrals, as indicated by the needs of the patient, Communicating with other health care providers related to diagnosis, treatment and plan for the patient either verbally and/or through documentation in the medical record, Participating in the on-call and emergency coverage schedule, as directed by the Medical Director, Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients with acute illness, Preventive care, history and physical examinations, immunizations, health education and preventive screening, Coordination of specialty services for consultation and treatments, Active DEA Controlled Substance Registration, Active Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration, Minimum 2 years of experience in an family practice setting preferred, Graduate of a formal accredited education program required, MD or DO and graduation from an accredited family medicine residency program, Colorado Medical License and a DEA Certificate, Experience or interest in education and research and faculty development, Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion with information, Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, patients and others, Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask and follow-up, Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation skills, Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solving complex problems, Must have completed an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, Nevada medical license or ability to obtain prior to employment, DEA license or ability to obtain prior to employment, Pharmacy license or ability to obtain prior to employment, Must have and be able to maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Iowa, Possesses board certification/board eligibility in family medicine or related field that evidences the training and skills needed to perform the Department’s services, Must be able to maintain an unrestricted federal DEA number and applicable state drug permits, Possession of a license to practice medicine (MD or DO) in the State of Oregon granted by the Oregon State Board of Medical Examiners, Possession of a current DEA license from the Drug Enforcement Administration to prescribe medications, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family medicine, Must successfully pass credentialing process, Must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test, Must successfully pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check, Possession of a valid driver's license or an acceptable alternative method of transportation.
