Tens of thousands of United Auto Workers’ members are losing their jobs (33,000 last year alone) and their companies facing the uncertainty of a possible government-imposed bankruptcy. So, what is the Union of Ailing Workplaces doing for its members?
Why, it’s hosting a “business seminar & expo.”
Here is info from the press release:
Tarsha Weary, CEO of SW Design & Communications, LLC., will be the keynote speaker of a Business Seminar & Expo which is designed to instruct UAW Members and the community of available resources for starting a business, tools needed to apply for government grant, and receiving instructions on the stimulus package (AARA).
Now, this would ordinarily not be an event worth pausing over were it not for the fact that the only thing the UAW seems to be known for these days is killing businesses, not starting them.
Perhaps a better title for the seminar should be: How Not to Run a Business into the Ground.
