The good news is Brian E. Hayes will be the “dissenting opinion” that the courts will look to in reviewing the union-controlled NLRB’s decisions.
The bad news is the unions will still control the NLRB.
The Republican (it’s the name of the paper) ran a piece on Hayes today. Here’s an excerpt:
Brian E. Hayes, a long-time labor lawyer in Springfield, has joined the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C.
Hayes had most recently been working as a Republican labor policy director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions.

Now a full-time Washington resident, Hayes formerly lived in Wilbraham and was in private practice for 30 years specializing labor and employment law. He was a partner at Skoler, Abbott & Presser in Springfield and taught at the Western New England College School of Law.
