A former bookkeeper for United Auto Workers Local 383 in Benton Township has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to embezzling $200,397 from the union.

U.S. Attorney Donald Davis said that over four years Robbin Wolff, 49, of Stevensville, issued herself additional paychecks from union funds and charged personal expenses to a union credit card.

As part of a plea agreement Wolff reached with prosecutors, she agreed to repay $125,397 to the union and $75,000 to Fidelity & Deposit Co. of Maryland, a bonding agency. She pleaded guilty on Wednesday.

Davis said Wolff will be sentenced Oct. 28 before U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker. She faces up to five years in prison on one count of embezzlement, and one year in prison on a count of falsification of union records.

It could have been worse, it could’ve have been taxpayer dollars she stole…

Oh…wait a minute.
