Hundreds of attendees gathered yesterday at the Placita Olvera, one of the bus stops of the All Vote! campaign tour of California, organized by the Sevice Employees International Union ( SEIU ), the Teachers Association of California ( CTA ) and other organizations.
Eliseo Medina , executive vice president of SEIU, said the largest group of Hispanics who voted in the previous election is concentrated in the region of Los Angeles.
“But now they can not stand idly by,” said Medina.
The aim of All Vote is to get at least two million of a total of 2.8 million California Latinos to the polls-vote in November.
Vicky Marquez , a janitor involved in the campaign All Vote! said that in addition to large public events like yesterday, it also promotes the vote in the potlucks and meetings organized by friends and neighbors.
“I have only work permit, and I can not vote, but I can go door to door and grab the phone to encourage those who can to do so,” said Marquez.
It is clear that non-citizens will work in US campaigns for Democrats and the amnesty agenda even if they can’t vote.
