A member of the International Longshoremen's Association has posted a $15,000 bond after being arrested for employee theft, according to online police records.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Robert Burgin Keith was arrested on a local warrant Thursday for employee theft ranging from $20,000 – $99,000.
The union’s attorney, Robert Underwood, said financial records are still being pulled but estimates at least $30,000 is missing.
Police reports said ILA 1593 President Daniel Teague told police Keith is the financial accountant for the ILA.
Teague told police that bank records from August 2008 showed Keith began to use a Publix Employee Federal Credit Union debit card, which he was not supposed to have.
Teague said Keith admitted to embezzling ILA funds.
