Statewide Labor Rally Expected To Attract Thousands Of Union Members & Their Families
(Hartford, Connecticut) – The Connecticut Laborers’ District Council announced today that Ted Kennedy, Jr. will be one of the many featured speakers at the statewide labor rally tomorrow, Sunday, May 1, 2011, from 1 to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at Bushnell Park, Hartford, Connecticut.
Ted Kennedy, Jr. is an investment banker, lawyer and the president of the Marwood Group, a financial-services firm headquartered in New York, NY. He is a son of the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy from Massachusetts.
The statewide labor rally is presented by the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council and entitled, “Enough Is Enough”, will bring together labor union leaders and their members along with various political, business and community leaders at one massive rally which is intended to raise awareness about the increasing loss of workers’ rights in Connecticut and throughout the United States. “We are looking for all union members and their families throughout Connecticut to attend this important statewide rally on May 1st. In fact, we are inviting all employees in the public and private sectors to join us,” said Charles LeConche, business manager, Connecticut Laborers’ District Council. “At the rally, we intend to send a very strong message to the public, media and industry leaders that workers’ rights need to be preserved. However, the way trends are going now, we are seeing the decline of these rights and the disintegration of the American family.”
