Many within the Tea Party movement remember Kenneth Gladney—the man who was selling Gadsen flags and buttons at a Russ Carnahan town hall in 2009. Many also remember the alleged beating Gladney received at the hands of SEIU agents, some of which was captured on video (below).
Twenty months after Kenneth Gladney’s beating, the case finally went to trial in July. The SEIU paid for their agents’ defense and included a questionable SEIU witness. As a result, the SEIU agents were found not guilty in the Gladney beating.
Now, according to Stltoday.com, Gladney is seeking the justice (allegedly) denied to him through the criminal courts by filing a civil suit:
Kenneth Gladney filed the case against Service Employees International Union members Elston McCowan of St. Louis and Perry Molens of De Soto, as well as SEIU President Mary Kay Henry and local President Tom Balanoff.
Gladney was selling “Don’t Tread on Me” buttons and flags outside the south St. Louis County forum, called by U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, at the height of debate over health care reform.
He alleges that McCowan and Molens attacked him without provocation after the meeting. The suit claims the union “ordered, encouraged, and arranged McCowan and Molens to appear … to harass, abuse and beat those individuals who held political views.”
Gladney says he received injuries to his head, neck, shoulders, arms, face, and back, as well as mental anguish, and is seeking at least $50,000 in damages.
Here is the video footage from August 2009, showing the SEIU agents tussling with Gladney:
Union thugs and cowards. Great at beating someone they have out numbered. I can’t see by watching this film how they were found not guilty. I hope Gladney takes them for millions.
of course my comment is awaithing moderation on a union web site. Go figure.
Obama thinks he is the king not president and he is above the law and can do what ever he wants. By stopping deportation of illegals he is breaking the law. SEIU is just an extension of the Soros / Obama plan to destroy this country and change our system to total socialist Marxism.
