Rail union official from Jersey City pleads guilty to embezzling $68,000

NEWARK — The former secretary treasurer of a New Jersey transportation workers’ union pleaded guilty today to stealing $68,000 from the union’s accounts, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said today.
Kevin McKnight, 44, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of union funds before U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi in Newark federal court. McKnight faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
