Well, it apparently took some time for authorities to decide what to do about the United Auto Workers vice president who shot his wife.
However, it looks like the UAW’s General Holiefield will be charged after all.
The Macomb County sheriff’s office says Holiefield faces a reckless use of a firearm charge, which carries up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine upon conviction.
Holiefield was not in custody Friday. He is retiring this year from the UAW.
A Jan. 22 arraignment is scheduled in Clinton Township.
The 60-year-old Holiefield was cleaning a handgun on Dec. 30 when one shot fired, striking 50-year-old Monica Morgan in the abdomen. Morgan is recovering.
