American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) announced last week that it will no longer support United Negro College Fund (UNCF) because the Koch brothers have donated to UNCF.
In a Huffington Post column, AFSCME President Lee Saunders bashed “the billionaire industrialist Koch brothers, who also fund efforts to suppress voters’ rights and workers’ rights.”
Saunders, who was paid $350,058 last year with money taken from public employees, does not appreciate the Kochs’ support for worker freedom, which protects every worker’s right to choose whether to pay union bosses.
AFSCME bosses’ hatred for Charles and David Koch apparently outweighs AFSCME bosses’ concern for black students. Meanwhile, here are ten groups America’s fourth-largest labor union does not plan to stop funding.
