Last week, the New York Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with the assault of two NYPD lieutenants during a December 13th protest on the Brooklyn Bridge.
One of the suspects is 43-year old SEIU organizer Robert Murray who, according to NYPD’s Manhatten Chief of Detectives William Aubrey was caught on camera punching a police lieutenant not once, but twice.
“He also, toward the very end, punches lieutenant in the face so hard, that we have a witness that says he heard the fist to the face,” said Aubry. “His acts are violent, and they’re right up there with being one of the most violent acts that I’ve seen.” [Emphasis added.]
Although the SEIU stated in a press release that it “did not organize any official contingent to participate in the protests,” the Twitter feed of Murray’s employer, SEIU 32 BJ, was active with protest-oriented tweets on December 13th.

The Twitter feed of SEIU 32 BJ’s president, Hector Figueroa–Murray’s boss–also shows the union’s involvement in the December 13th.

One can only wonder if Figueroa was referring to Murray in the above tweet.
