Joe Hansen, the president of the United Food & Commercial Workers—the same union that has been sued for its corporate campaign tactics of defamation, strong-arm tactics and extortion—is encouraging his members to participate in Barack Obama’s “Truth Team,” which is modeled after the much-ridiculed Obama Attack Watch.

With that goal in mind, UFCW International President Joe Hansen is encouraging local unions, union members, and all Americans to participate in the Obama Truth Team.
The Truth Team is an online resource that keeps track of every single thing said on the Presidential campaign trail. From the most sweeping policy proposals to the most ordinary of promises, the Truth Team works as a written record aimed at keeping all the candidates, the President included, honest to the American people.

By participating in the Obama truth team we can help keep this campaign focused on the facts that matter and weed out the fictitious claims that don’t. Because let’s be honest – the facts are on our side. Unemployment is decreasing. Health care coverage has been expanded. Opportunity is rising. This country is moving forward. We have to do everything we can to keep on that course – not derail the progress being made in favor of damaging, regressive policies.
