Jacksonville’s city bus drivers are threatening to strike now that their contract talks have come to a standstill.
The Amalgamated Transit Union, which represents bus drivers, and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority are working to negotiate a new labor agreement. Both parties have been negotiating since March, but talks have stopped and there is no deal in place.
According to a news release from Jacksonville Transportation Authority, the union is asking for a 17 percent pay hike, an additional week of paid leave, 20 percent more for health insurance and an increase in pension contributions.
