Teamsters plan game-day protest of Coca-Cola

The Teamsters Union announced Thursday that its members who work for Coca-Cola Enterprises in Washington state will protest the company’s actions Saturday during the Seahawks football game at Qwest Field in downtown Seattle.
Coca-Cola Enterprises (NYSE: CCE) markets, produces and distributes products of The Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE: KO) as an independent public company based in Atlanta.
The union says Coca-Cola Enterprises plans to close three of its Washington state facilities. Earlier this year, the Coca-Cola Co. agreed to acquire Coca-Cola Enterprises’ North American business, according to company financial reports.
The Teamsters’ press release did not say how the Seahawks and Qwest Field are connected to Coca-Cola Enterprises, although Seahawks games attract thousands of fans.
