After marathon negotiations over the weekend to avert a strike, UFCW Local 7 announced that a tentative agreement was reached with King Soopers & City Market.
DENVER, CO—The United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW), Local 7, announced on Monday that it had reached a tentative agreement with King Soopers and City Market for the 12,000 workers employed in Colorado.
“After another 37 hours of bargaining this weekend, we have secured a final offer from King Soopers/City Market,” the union announced on its Facebook page. “Details and statewide vote dates and locations will be posted soon.”
UFCW members had voted to authorize a strike if negotiations had failed.
The UFCW later posted this update which provides some details on the tentative agreement.
