The United Auto Workers Local 833 will hold an informational picket Monday afternoon, less than a week before union members will vote on a new labor contract with the Kohler Co., according to union leaders.

The planned picket comes as the two sides continue negotiations on a new contract for nearly 2,000 Kohler workers in Sheboygan County.

Union spokesman Dave Boucher said today that the picket is meant to show solidarity and support for the UAW’s bargaining committee, and it’s not a reflection of the ongoing contract talks.

“It’s not indicative of progress, or a lack thereof in negotiations,” Boucher said. “The motivation to call the picket was to demonstrate and show support for the bargaining committee.”

  1. Kohler is a great company that is offering a great deal in these tough times. The UAW is stupid for not seeing how good Kohler’s offer is. I hope the employees have enough sense to vote yes.
