A former secretary-treasurer for a local Teamsters Union has pleaded guilty to embezzling union funds over a three-year period, the U.S. Attorney’s office said Friday.
Mark Winfield Tracy, 65, faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced on March 7, spokeswoman Natalie Collins said in a statement.
Government officials say Tracy took about $125,000 from the Teamsters Union, Local 533, between February 2006 and April 2009, but that amount is disputed by the parties and a final amount will be made by the judge at sentencing, Collins said.
