A strike isn’t imminent, but it may be on the horizon in the fall

The Transport Workers Union said Thursday it has told its locals to schedule a strike vote for fleet service clerks and ground workers it represents at American Airlines. It wants results by July 30.

TWU big guy Robert Gless said in the TWU release that he thinks the National Mediation Board could release the union from further talks as early as September, assuming members authorize a strike. That would mean a strike could come as early as October.
